Two brothers form Entasis Group to offer their philosophy of contemporary design with urban ambiance
Entasis Group was established in 2002 by brothers Brian and Aaron Ojala to provide architectural design and construction services for residential and commercial spaces. According to Brian, the company is the fulfillment of a dream to offer contemporary design with urban ambiance.
Toward that end, Entasis Group’s style is all about modern design that places a heavy emphasis on feel and lifestyle. A review of the Entasis Group portfolio, particularly in residential design and construction, reveals exactly what the company calls its “dream big” philosophy. Entasis Group’s design and construction demonstrates a seamless flow within the building, often using wide open spaces and huge, uncovered windows, to connect the space within itself, but also establish a connection with the community outside. As Brian describes it, “we want to create a Zen feeling that is really connected to art and to everything surrounding our building.”
Entasis Group starts every residential project with an eye toward creating the Zen feeling by getting to know its customers. For example, many designers and builders would focus initially on how many bedrooms are needed and what square footage is desired. Entasis Group takes a different approach. According to Brian, “initially we interview the client and we work together. We talk to the client about how they want to live their life. I want to know about the person, not the house.” In those interviews, Entasis Group finds out information such as what the client reads, what they believe in and what kind of music the client likes. The answers to these questions drive the design and construction.
