With most skin care products, determining improvement is subjective—skin feels better, looks better or mmm, not so much. MyChelle offers customers a complimentary—totally free—skin assessment, using its VISIA® Complexion Analysis system, a diagnostic tool originally developed for dermatologists. “MyChelle first utilized this technology to do in-house studies to see that our products are working,” explains Innovative Programs Manager/Esthetician Catie Wiggy. “Our CEO, Terry Tierney, thought it would be a great idea for everyone to experience it. Now we have over 40 machines across the United States and in the United Kingdom.”
The VISIA three-dimensional view displays the skin’s surface and subsurface condition, highlighting what you see in the mirror and more importantly the extent of what you don’t see. An eight-point facial scan, which provides a baseline or starting point, is performed by a MyChelle certified natural beauty advisor. A computerized printout details irregularities, such as freckles, visible sun damage, capillaries or vascular irritation. The extent of wrinkles in the area of the eyes and mouth as a result of the aging process is indicated. Texture shows up as high or raised points and indentations or low points on the skin’s surface. The size and conditions of pores is noted. Surface sun spots and damage to the deep layers of the skin is revealed. Skin discoloration—shadows under the eyes, moles, hyperpigmentation—are displayed. Irritation or redness from broken capillaries, inflammation or breakouts shows up. The presence of P-bacteria, (typically linked to acne) and oil becomes visible.
Cleansers, exfoliants, serums, masks, mists, nourishing creams and sun protection are recommended, based on what the VISIA scan records. Color-coded packaging makes it quick and easy to find the product line that fits the particular skin type each collection is created for: all/combination, dry, oily/blemish control, youth blemish control, sensitive, age defense and age spot/UV recovery.
Beyond the initial consultation, MyChelle offers a follow-up analysis at three and six months. These additional evaluations show a side-by-side comparison of changes in the skin. “We are really excited. People are coming back, and they are seeing results. That’s what we want,” confirms Wiggy. MyChelle recently announced that they are “going full body.” A dual-purpose polish cleanses and buffs. A cloudberry oil and black currant enriched lotion also contains shea butter and jojoba for skin-softening. Radiant Oil delivers extra hydration. The all-natural body products will be available soon.

Making a Difference
MyChelle Dermaceuticals follows a “do good, feel good” philosophy. Its My Giving program supports a variety of community projects that empower women.
