The Playground String Quartet celebrates fall with works by Mexican composers, Oct. 18
In a climate where diversity is undervalued and often actively oppressed, The Playground String Quartet is proud to celebrate fall with a concert of string quartet pieces by two composers from Mexico. The performance will feature the Colorado premiere of Gabriela Ortiz’s ceremonial “Altar de Muertos”, inspired by the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead, and “Eclectic Huapango” and “Two Dances” by composer Alfonso Molina, which focus on pre-Hispanic Mexican traditions that have endured beyond Mexico’s Spanish conquest. The show will take place at Kim Robards Dance, 1755 W 48th Ave in Denver on Saturday, October 18, 2025, 7:30 p.m. (Doors open at 7). “Place Setting” art exhibition at NKollectiv, ends Oct. 26
Nkollectiv presents “Place Setting,” an art exhibition featuring work by Mary Lynn Baird, Victoria Eubanks and Julia Martin on view Sept 30 – October 26, 2025, at 3485 S. Broadway. In this show, the artists explore feelings of belonging, identity, familiarity or the unfamiliar—a subjective experience of place and the settings that influence such experiences. Their varied styles include mixed media, clay monotype printmaking, and encaustic. The public is invited to view and shop the show during regular gallery hours as listed, and during the following special events.

Murder Mystery Dinner at The Fort, Oct. 24
As part of The Fort’s annual Friday Night Doin’s series, the truly Colorado restaurant is celebrating spooky season with a “midnight at the masquerade” murder mystery dinner on Friday, Oct. 24. Guests are encouraged to arrive dressed in evening wear to enjoy a four-course prix-fixe meal at the “Billionaires’ Club Annual Masquerade Ball” as the mysterious story unfolds around them. Tickets are $99 per person, available here, and also include a 6oz. buffalo filet with chimichurri, seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes and no-bake cheesecake for dessert. Masquerade masks will be available at check-in. This event is R-rated, and guests must be 18 years or older to attend.

Bitfactory Gallery welcomes back artist Tadashi Hayakawa for “A Soul’s Journey,” on view Oct 17 – Nov 15, 2025. The exhibition—which also marks his 84th birthday—features a new body of mixed media and abstract expressionist artwork created specifically for this show.
