Hello my fellow foodies and welcome to the first ever Caren’s Culinary Adventures Colorado Holiday Gift Guide. After searching far and wide in our colorful state, I came up with five culinary gifts that I am in love with. I was not paid to tell you about these gifts, and (spoiler alert), I am buying some of these for my friends and family for the holidays. There is something for all the foodies in your life, so away we go, and let the gift giving begin!

Adults and Crafts is a DIY craft kit company for adults, because crafting is fun for all ages. Marianna Narowski and Kevin Black created the company after a frustrating trip to the crafting store. Marianna thought that craft kits should be like meal kits, easy, and with instructions. I tried out the Agate Resin Coasters Kit and a Wood Burned Cutting Board kit to keep it culinary, and they were a blast to create solo, or with friends and family. The kits come with everything, and I mean everything you will need to create your culinary masterpiece. The cutting board retails for $49, and the resin coaster kit retails for $39. After we created our culinary art, I can truly say we have used both the coasters and the cutting board many times. The company is based in Denver, and they have so many options for artsy fun time. This is a fabulous gift to give someone who is looking to get creative without all the fuss of shopping for all of the supplies.

Founded in 1997, Telluride Truffle handcrafts artisanal chocolates and other chocolate goodies. The truffles are named after mountain adventures and shaped like mountains as well. They use local cream from Colorado dairies, and all natural ingredients. This is not my first rodeo with Telluride Truffle. The minute I tried one months ago, I knew this would be on my holiday giving list. Owner Patty Denny has come up with a premium gift box for the holidays featuring all the chocolate Colorado goodness perfectly wrapped in a beautiful white box with a red bow. The box retails for $235 and would be a great corporate gift for your business partners, and of course for friends and family.  There are many other gift options available at the website. Colorado made, Colorado delish!

My spice rack is now overflowing at my house with spices from Savory Spice Shop.  Founded in Denver in 2004 by Janet and Mike Johnston, these are small batch spices, herbs and seasonings that will kick up any dish your gift recipient will make. There are over 400 spice blends all made in house. The Taste of Colorado Collection is such a great gift for anyone this holiday season. The gorgeous box features eight spices named after Colorado Landmarks and neighborhoods. This is a perfect gift for cooks, foodies, or anyone in or out of state. The box retails for $75. Colorado perfection!

 Taste of Colorado Collection

I am a pasta fanatic, so after searching for the perfect pasta gift made in Colorado, I came across Pastificio in Boulder. After meeting with owners Claudia Bouvier and Ted Steen, I learned that their pasta is made with organic heirloom and ancient wheat varieties. They use traditional Italian methods, and bronze dies. Only ethical and sustainable methods are used to make their pasta, and they are proud recipients of the Good Food Award in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, and the Snail of Approval from Slow Food US. They have created a box for the holiday which retails for $70 and includes 3 boxes of their organic pasta, two sauces and two tapenades imported from Italy along with aperitivo crackers, and fun pasta recipes that incorporate all the sauces with the pastas.  I tried their pasta and there is absolutely a difference in the taste. This is a perfect gift for your foodie friends and family. You can also stop by their Boulder location and pick out some fresh or boxed pasta to take home for yourself.

For the libations lover in your life, there is no better than The Family Jones Distillery based in Denver. The distillery only uses Colorado farms for their spirits, so it is truly “Colorado Grain to Bottle”. The Automatic Jones bottles of spirits are fantastic for when you have guests over and need a pre-mixed cocktail, or as a gift for the spirit enthusiast in your life. I tried the Earl Grey Negroni, the Espresso Martini and the Rock & Rye.  Retail on these are $41.99. All 3 of these are available by visiting the distillery and the Espresso Martini is available at the link below. You can also find them at select liquor stores in Colorado.

I hope you have enjoyed this gift guide of Colorado proud companies.  I think it is important to keep it local and support our Colorado companies this season and every season. They are excited about what they do, and they want to share their passion with you and your family for the holidays. They have made my giving much easier this year, and I hope I have made it a bit easier and fun for you as well. Until next time my fellow foodies, eat well, drink well, and be well. Bravo Colorado!
