Denver Union Station Marking 10th Anniversary With Community Celebration

Events to be held July 12th through the 14th with fun LoDo events and a black tie gala to raise funds for Colorado non-profits

Denver Union Station is excited to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its epic revitalization with a 3-day community celebration; Denver Union Station: Making History….Again held Friday, July 12th – Sunday, July 14th.

Originally opened in 1881, downtown Denver’s landmark train station reopened to great fanfare in July 2014 after a $54 million renovation that included the creation of The Crawford Hotel. This summer, Denver Union Station will complete an extensive refresh that includes a remodel of all 112 luxurious Crawford guest rooms and a redesign of the bustling Great Hall and The Cooper Lounge.

The Friday evening events are being sponsored by Visit Denver, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Concern and the Downtown Denver Partnership. Additional sponsors for Making History….Again include McWhinney, Draft Kings, IMA Financial Group, and FirstBank.

The iconic Denver Union Station is widely recognized as the heart of the Mile High city, home to 10 chef-driven restaurants and two retail shops. More than 30,000 people pass through the historic building each day with 70+ RTD trains running daily to/from Denver International Airport.

Denver Union Station Neighborhood Night: Friday, July 12th from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. 

Enjoy a fun LoDo evening with a vibrant celebration on the Union Station Wynkoop Plaza featuring a concert by Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, music by DJ Chris, a 360 photo booth, Ping Pong on the Plaza, food & drink specials and more.

Denver Union Station Community Day: Sunday, July 14th from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

A festive party featuring live music by Denver’s Tunisia, DJ Chris, Paul Borillo and artists from Youth on Record. Families can enjoy rides on the Rocky Mountain Mini Train, face painters, balloon artists and more. The public is invited to experience the newly renovated Denver Union Station Great Hall and the refreshed Crawford Hotel guest rooms.

The Crawford Premium Classic King

On Saturday, July 13th, Denver Union Station will host a Black-Tie Gala starting at 6 p.m. This opulent evening will feature live music by the Colorado Symphony Quartet and DJ Chris, along with entertainment by renowned local painter, Grow Love, live ice carving and more. Revelers can dine on delicious food from Mercantile Dining + Provision, Ultreia, Stoic & Genuine, Terminal Bar and The Cooper Lounge. The event will benefit more than 40 Colorado non-profits, including Junior Achievement, Historic Denver, Project Our Town, the Tennyson Center for Children, Union Hall and Girls Scouts of Colorado, with each non-profit keeping ALL profits from each $500 ticket sold. Denver Union Station’s Great Hall, The Cooper Lounge and 8,000 square feet of meeting & event space are all being redesigned to offer a new layout, new furniture, light fixtures and more.

Inspired by the journey of the past decade, The Crawford Hotel is completing a remodel of its 112 luxe guest rooms Designed by DLR Group and Sage Studio, the refresh includes elegant new furniture, window treatments, wall coverings and art pieces that exude timeless elegance and vintage charm.  The hotel is elevating the guest arrival experience with the creation of an inviting new lobby space that is separate from the Great Hall and offers private elevator access to the guest floors.
