Give Back to Nonprofits This Fall While Enjoying Some Wine

Blanchard Family Wines holds Sip, Swirl and Support event to give back to local nonprofit

Welcome back my fellow foodies, and happy fall! I love this time of year for many reasons. One being that it’s best time of year to start giving back, so this adventure warmed my heart. I was lucky enough to attend an event hosted by Blanchard Family Wines in collaboration with the Law School-Yes We Can Colorado Nonprofit. I had never been to this winery that I have heard so much about, so what better time than now to check it out.

The Sip , Swirl and Support event helped to elevate the mission of Law School ..Yes We can. This nonprofit helps to increase diversity in the legal profession in Colorado via scholarships, mentorships and preparatory workshops. The funds raised from this event helped for scholarships to their Fellows for the LSAT prep courses, and to help organize exposure programs. With the help of events like these, the Fellows will help change the course of American justice for future generations. That sounds like a great way to give back!

Blanchard Family Wines is the brainchild of two brothers Mark and James Blanchard. They have 3 locations in Colorado, Denver, Golden and Ft Collins. Mark worked for various wineries in Sonoma and Napa eventually living in Healdsburg CA. James spent many years in the Air Force ,and ended up in his favorite place…Colorado. The winery vision is simple..wine can bring people together, and should be shared among friends and family. What could be better!

Their fruit comes from several different regions of California and Grand Valley CO. I was so excited to try 4 of their wines, and of course, an amazing charcuterie board. James Blanchard was on hand to explain all about the wines we were drinking, and answer all of our questions. All of the wines were outstanding, and I learned things about wine that night I never knew.

Blanchard Family Wines is a place to sit, relax, and maybe step out of your comfort wine zone and explore a little. They are extremely knowledgeable and it shows from grape to glass. I took a bottle of Cab Sav home with me for dinner at our house with friends the next night. After all, that’s what The Blanchard Family wants you to do…share the experience of delicious wine with friends and family. I feel lucky to have such a wonderful place that supports our local nonprofits in our beautiful state. Until next time my fellow foodies, eat well, drink well, and be well.
