Good Tidings with Elizabeth Hamilton
Learn more about the making of the November/December 2023 issue
It’s hard to believe we’re in the holiday season and 2023 is nearing its end. As I reflect back on the past year, I am inspired by the people we’ve met in our local organizations who give tirelessly to our community.
Although there are countless ways to support these impressive efforts, we have curated a list of nonprofits as part of our Colorado Gives Day guide to help shine a light on a handful that are making a meaningful difference.
This time of year is for finding gifts for everyone on your list, and you’re in luck—we have an impressive collection of unique finds that are sure to elicit joy and appreciation from even the pickiest of people.
Now, whether you’re hosting a casual neighborhood open house or a formal sit-down dinner, we spoke with sought-after Denver caterers to hear their expert advice, tricks of the trade and even menu ideas to help you become the “hostess with the mostest.” Speaking of hosting, you don’t want to forget the wine! Paul Stroud of Craft Wines Colorado has shared his go-to bottles to pair with your holiday dishes, and beyond.
If you’re looking forward to winter like I am, you must book a stay at Trapper’s Cabin in Beaver Creek. This luxurious cabin on the hill is poised to be your annual winter get-away, complete with epic snow! But if your wanderlust veers more on the posh side, be prepared for the wow factor that is Belmond’s Orient Express train from Paris to the French Alps. I cannot get over the opulent 1920s décor and superb attention to details that make this a trip of a lifetime.
Finally, I want to send a special thanks to everyone who works to make this magazine so wonderful. This year has been tops, and I am so proud of the entire Wiesner Media team, which brings not only each issue of Colorado Expression to life but also Mountain Living and Colorado Homes and Lifestyles as well as Colorado Biz and Pittsburgh Magazine. I also want to send a heartfelt appreciation to all our readers and supporters—what gifts you all are in my life! I raise a glass to YOU this season, and wish everyone health and prosperity in 2024.
