Grocery Store Opens Up New Bakery With Paris Imported Pastries
King Soopers in Castle Rock opens La Famille Bakery by Maison Kayser Paris full of delectable French pastries
Bon Jour my fellow foodies, and welcome back. I just returned from King Soopers in Castle Rock CO, and I have something very special for you. La Famille Bakery by Maison Kayser Paris has recently opened a shop inside of this particular King Soopers. This is something extraordinary because this is the only location in the USA for this special bakery and wait for it… all the dough and bread is made in Paris and flown to King Soopers. So, you are really getting a Parisian pastry or loaf of bread when you purchase something there. It is something that I had to go and check out for myself.
Eric Kayser was born into a family of bakers, and since has been building a global business with his artisan bread and pastries. He uses the finest ingredients, with gluten free offerings since 2013. Eric has a love for traditional bread and is constantly striving to improve techniques and flavor profiles. He taught at the National De La Boulangerie Patisserie and wants to share his knowledge and skills with bakers all over the world. To this day, he still has his popular shop in Paris with other locations in Mexico, South America, and Asia. So off I pop and away we go.
The pastries and breads are flown in from Paris frozen and are then finished at La Famille. They bake them fresh every single day, and you could smell the aroma of Paris when you walk in the door at King Soopers. I was given tasters of so many things that were amazing ranging from croissants (chocolate and plain made with 80% butter, of course), choux pastries, tarts of apricots, plums and pistachios, and the most delicious sandwiches on croissants or baguettes.
They also make cranberry pistachio bread, rosemary focaccia, several kinds of macaroons, and the most delicious Apple Turnovers. I couldn’t help but leave with some of these to take home to friends. I must mention that the people who work there are so helpful and kind. This is no grab and go. They are more than willing to help you make the right decision on a pastry or bread because they believe their products are something truly special.
The pastries and breads sell out quickly every day. The most popular are the baguettes, and the Apple Turnovers. I would tell you to broaden your horizons however and buy something out of the ordinary because there is so much to choose from. If you are lucky, you can get them hot out of the oven. How lucky are we that we can have a little taste of Paris right here in Colorado? More locations are promised so I am excited! I sat with my French press coffee, eating a croissant, and it took me to a corner cafe in Paris on a beautiful sunny day. Hey, a girl can dream, can’t she? Go there, you’ll love it! Until next time my fellow foodies, eat well. Drink well and be well. Au revoir!
