Seven of Denver’s Best New Patios to Enjoy This Summer
Enjoy these Denver patio locations this summer with a cold drink and outdoor games
Colorado’s adage “if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes” is good news for the area’s patio lovers. Here is an exclusive list of some of our favorite patios in the city:
Hops & Pie
Tennyson’s Hops & Pie opened a 3,000-square-foot patio, a parking-lot-turned-patio labor of love that has been a months’ long project. The expansive patio is game, baby, pizza, and beer-friendly. The heated patio has greatly expanded their seating capacity which was needed! With 20+ craft beer taps, usually with hard-to-find beers, and sourdough Detroit-style pizza, it’s one of the best patios in the city.
FlyteCo Tower
Last summer, aviation-themed brewery FlyteCo Tower opened its 25,000-square-foot brewpub in the now defunct Stapleton Air Traffic Control tower attached to the iconic 164-foot-tower, which includes an expansive patio. Opening at 7 a.m., making it the earliest open brewery in the state, FlyteCo customers can enjoy locally roasted coffee and artisanal breakfast sandwiches as well as a full food menu beginning at 11 a.m. with wine, cocktails, and beer. The patio includes 18 holes of minigolf, ping pong, and lawn games, in addition to the six bowling lanes, full arcade and three floors of fun inside. The space has become a community gathering space for craft beer lovers, families and aviation enthusiasts alike.
Adrift Tiki Bar
With its hanging blowfish lamps and tiki decor, soak in the island vibes inside or head outside to Adrift’s vibrantly decked out patio with colorful island murals and picnic tables and grass-lined umbrellas. The “Beach on Broadway” has several hand-crafted tiki cocktails that will help you cool off including their newly released seasonal cocktails like Ume Mami Daiquiri, which is Adrift’s take on a spring daiquiri that utilizes UME Plum Liqueur, a mildly tart and sweet plum spirit with a show-stopping magenta hue and Passion of the Mojito, Adrift’s spin on a Frozen Mojito that includes Mathilde Cassis and pineapple.
Stem Ciders
Stem Ciders has not one, but two spectacular locations perfect for enjoying their delicious ciders and farm-to-table food while taking in the incredible outdoors. Their spacious flagship Acreage location in Lafayette sits atop a hill with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains. Whether you’re reclined in a set of Adirondack chairs, posted up with friends around picnic tables, or kicking back in some hammocks, Acreage offers some of the most relaxing setting for sipping on ciders. The new RiNO taproom also has a sophisticated urban oasis feel, with a lovely shaded courtyard in the heart of Denver’s buzziest neighborhood.
The Block Distilling Co.
People watching and craft cocktails combine for a most entertaining pairing! The Block Distilling Co is also located in RiNo on Larimer in between 29th and 30th streets, which is blocked off for pedestrian traffic. Enjoy the patio or the semi-enclosed, artfully decorated shipping container in the heart of the Mile High’s most bustling neighborhood with one of their inventive and aesthetically pleasing elevated craft cocktail creations.
Call to Arms Brewing Company
Tucked away in a small enclave, the Call to Arms patio serves as the perfect urban oasis for bringing together community over classically-inspired contemporary beers while enjoying unique, offbeat events. This brewery always feels a bit like Cheers, bringing together industry friends and neighborhood regulars, and the patio serves as the heart of the action.
WestFax Brewing Co.
Freshly redone and with a particularly unique rose-colored view, WestFax’s patio is the best possible place to enjoy their fleet of incredibly well-balanced IPAs and lagers. Bring your pooch and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, local art, and some of Denver’s best food trucks.
