Summer Dining With A Upscale Mountain Twist
Enter Evergreen Colorado for a historic Summer mountain dining experience at Evoke 1923
Hello my fellow foodies and welcome back. Summer is approaching in the mountains, and with all the flowers blooming, so is the culinary scene in Evergreen, Colorado. There is a special place between Evergreen and Conifer Colorado that is historic, beautiful and will satisfy all your foodie cravings. Evoke 1923 opened in early 2025 and is dishing out upscale cuisine with a mountain twist on it.
The building that houses Evoke 1923 was hand built in, you guessed it, 1923. The building was originally the Rocky Mountain Tea Room and was also the summer home of the Colorado Philharmonic. Rehearsals were on the main floor of the building which is now the dining room. The building is elegant, rustic and inviting in any season. Owners Tiffani and Rand G. Packer are no strangers to the food industry. They own several different restaurants in Evergreen, Colorado and Evoke 1923 is their latest venture. Chef Packer pays homage to his multicultural culinary journeys, as well as his many years working alongside such chefs as Roy Yamaguchi and Troy Guard. I was super excited to dive in, so as usual, let’s eat.
We started with the Kaffir Lime Scented PEI Mussels and the Squid Ink Cavatelli Pasta. The mussels were in the most delicious coconut curry broth, great for dipping their homemade Garlic Rosemary Focaccia into. The pasta was full of lump crab, beech mushrooms and topped with black caviar. It was divine, rich in every sense of the word and a great sharing dish.
The main course was a hard decision. There were so many great choices. We ordered the Hokkaido Seared Sea Scallops with Mushroom Ravioli, and the Peppermint Grilled Elk Loin. As picky as my husband is, he said that the elk was one of the best dishes he has ever had. My ravioli was like a painting topped with a Sweet Pea Lobster Tarragon sauce. There are many fish and steak options that I cannot wait to come back to try. We finished off our delicious meal with a dessert of epic proportions. You must try the Dark Chocolate Mousse Mille-Feuille. Think of it as a layered chocolate mousse and hazelnut praline work of art.
Cocktails are spectacular at Evoke 1923 and they have an extensive wine list. There are many nonalcoholic mocktails offered as well.
You can dine at Evoke 1923 in a suit, jeans, or maybe fresh from a day of adventuring in the mountains. There is no judgment, just great service and spectacular food. I am so thrilled about the evolving culinary scene in Evergreen Colorado. I am always the biggest cheerleader for new and exciting foodie adventures in the mountains and Evoke 1923 is a huge win. Until next time my fellow foodies, eat well, drink well, and be well.
