This Mas Carlot Wine Dinner Takes Your Tastebuds on an Adventure to France
Accompany Caren on her adventure to Le French restaurant for a tasteful wine and dine experience
Bon Jour my fellow foodies. My latest adventure has taken me to France!! Well, not really, but it came really close. I had the opportunity to partake in the Mas Carlot wine dinner at Le French restaurant in Denver, and I was completely blown away.
Let’s start with the wine. Mas Carlot is situated in Costières de Nîmes, a beautiful pebbly land around Nîmes and Arles in the Southern Rhône, and makes some of the very best value wines in all of France. They are organic, they are delicious, and all of them are under $30!! We had representative Cedric Ferry from the winery on hand explaining the beautiful roots of this winery and to answer all of our questions. I was excited to try French wine as I have not had that much experience with it. Each part of this 5 course French dinner was paired with one of their beautiful wines. I saved up my appetite all day for this so let’s dive in!!
The food at Le French was perfection. It was plated so beautifully, you almost didn’t want to eat it, but of course I did. The first course already had me in foodie heaven. It consisted of a soft boiled egg topped with smoked crème fraiche, caviar and avocado. This was paired with Mas Carlots Generations Blanc wine. It was perfection. I was scraping my plate and I honestly didn’t care if people thought that was bad manners because It was just that good.
Other delectable dishes included scallops with almond brown butter on top on black lentils, a delicious ribeye with a mushroom wine demi-glace, and a peach and apple meringue for dessert. We switched between red and white wines for each course. I’m still dreaming of this meal, and it was one for the books I won’t forget. Le French is a chic gourmet, yet casual restaurant opened by Senegalese sisters Aminata and Rougui Dia. Aminata was the chef this night and she certainly shined. Le French is open for brunch, lunch and dinner, and their pastry counter is not to be missed.
A divine restaurant I will be back to again and again. Le French was one of my favorite restaurants I have eaten at in Colorado, maybe in the USA. Mas Carlot wine can be found in many wine shops in Denver, and can be purchased at Le French as well. Don’t hesitate, head out to their two locations in The Tech Center and Cherry Creek and get ready to have one of the best meals ever. A total bonus is now I am a lover of French wine!! Until next time my fellow foodies, eat well, drink well, and be well.
