Our fall issue is always one that leaves me feeling inspired and excited about the influential women who are dedicated to empowering our community.

What I find so wonderful is there are noteworthy women in every sector of our beautiful state, which makes our job of narrowing down our list a challenge. I cannot wait to share the stories of the ladies we have featured this year. Not only are they all making a difference in their work, but I also had the best time with each of them at our photoshoot!

Ann Bonfoey Taylor was a force of a woman: She was part of the U.S. Olympic team for downhill skiing; flew planes in World War II; played tennis at Wimbledon; was a Vogue model; started her own ski apparel company: and was a well-accomplished equestrian as well as mother to six children. There really wasn’t anything Taylor couldn’t do! We are so honored to share her story with our readers; we hope you are as inspired by her life as we are.

Another woman you’ll want to check out is stylemaker Anuschka Pashel of Bloom. With a gifted eye and a passion for creating beautiful things, she has created a home filled with elevated bohemian treasures from around the globe. An explosion of color, textures and patterns makes her floral design and home store a unique Denver destination.

You also will want to check out two rock-star women who are shaking up the male-dominated food and beverage industry: Jennifer Peters and Karen Hertz, the ladies behind gluten-free havens Just BE Kitchen and Holidaily Brewing Company, respectfully. Not only are their establishments allergy-friendly but they also are so delicious.

Finally, we’ve been globe-trotting our way through Ireland and the Antarctic to bring you stories of off-the-beaten-path vacations that are sure to make your bucket list.

Beyond the fall issue, our website, coloradoexpression.com is chock-full of unique stories, such as the Women’s Bank of Denver, formed in 1978. I salute all the women in my life (and in yours) who are making a difference in Colorado. Here’s to raising the bar even higher!
