Award-winning Prismajic is opening their first permanent immersive art installation, Shiki Dreams, December 15, 2023. Shiki Dreams is a beautiful, richly layered, powerful and inspiring experience where all the senses are engaged through art and technology. Shiki loosely translates to “four seasons” in Japanese, and the various rooms explore themes of nature and the outside world, the passing of time, and overcoming fear.

“We built this to be a thoughtful sanctuary,” said Eric Jaenike, President and Co-Founder of Prismajic.  “The experience changes you emotionally, and we use technology to enhance that.  We want people to leave here with a new sense of themselves, of others, and their place in the world, while feeling peaceful and rejuvenated.”

The Night Owls Bar

Jaenike, along with Co-Founder and Head of Creative Jennifer Mosquera, launched Artistry Events & Design in 2012, focusing on corporate events. In 2019, they launched Prismajic, and opened their first immersive experience, Natura Obscura, at the Denver Museum of Outdoor Arts.  Their second experience, Shiki Dreams, a small pop-up located near Denver’s City Park, ran from February 2020 to October 2021. It was named the “4th Best Immersive Experience” in the country by USA Today. The pop-up incorporated augmented reality, sensors, and interactive technology in innovative and novel ways to help guide attendees through the installation and enhance their experience.

Prismajic anchors the 40 West Arts District with the three legs formed by Meow Wolf, Casa Bonita, and now Prismajic. Each one offers a distinct immersive experience, and collectively offers a powerful draw nationally and internationally for immersive art aficionados – and those who simply like to play.

Prismajic’s Creative Director Mosquera brings together more than 35 Colorado artists, cultivating a diverse and dynamic creative community. Their artists specialize in a wide array of disciplines, including animation, technology, sculpture, woodwork, and painting.

“With this new, permanent version of Shiki Dreams, our goal is to continue strengthening Denver’s reputation for excellent immersive art,” said Mosquera.

The Night Owls Hallway

Prismajic’s immersive experience extends to its café, The Night Owls, offering curated craft cocktails, beer, and wine, along with tasty and fun delights such as pretzels with mustard flights, and light fare curated by created by Chef Consultant Thach Tran (Sushi Den, Cholon Bistro, Ace Eat Serve), as well as The Night Owls cocktail and mocktail program created by Bar Consultant Dusty Tran, GM Joel Parker, and mixologist Christina Lacata. The visually stunning space also has a stage for music, poetry readings, and other special events.

Shiki Dreams will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays 12-8pm, Fridays 12-9pm, Saturdays 10am-9pm and Sundays 10am-6pm, starting December 15. Tickets ($28 for adults, $24 for children ages 4-12) are available for purchase at www.prismajic.com.
