Best Lunch Downtown/LoDo/Ballpark

Trust is well-placed in the realms of Denver staple, Tamayo by Chef Richard Sandoval, located in the buzzing Larimer Square. At the center of their new lunch menu is their crispy short-rib corn empanadas. The harmonious blend of black bean puree, avocado salsa, crema, queso fresco, radish and pickled red onion will soon to be a fan-favorite dish and is featured on both the dinner and lunch menus. The Scottish salmon takes the spotlight, showcasing Chef Tony’s artistry with achiote-marinated, roasted butternut squash and housemade mole—one that Chef specializes in sharing with his family, community and friends.

For a refreshing interlude, Tamayo mixologists have crafted the Amazonia cocktail, marrying Sao Paulo cachaca, lime and acai and the heart shaped box. Lastly, the La Tampiquena, an ensemble of grilled skirt steak, mole enchiladas, black beans and guacamole is the perfect, authentic dish that captures the essence of Mexican cuisine through diverse textures and tastes, also available for lunch or dinner.

Another tried-and-true downtown staple is Wynkoop Brewing Co., Colorado’s first brewpub. Located in the historic J.S. Brown Mercantile Building, Wynkoop is the perfect place to steal away for a hearty lunch and some mid-afternoon brews. For those looking to switch it up a bit, look no further than Wynkoop’s Crispy Fish Tacos. Featuring beer-battered cod, corn tortillas, red cabbage slaw, chipotle ranch, fried jalapenos, avocado and cotija with a side of tortilla chips and white queso, these tacos are guaranteed to spice up the workday. For a lighter option, Wynkoop’s Roasted Beet Salad packs a flavorful punch! Bursting with roasted beets, crisp pears, goat cheese, crunchy fried almonds and crispy prosciutto, this salad is elevated by a drizzle of verjus vinaigrette atop a bed of fresh mixed greens.

Wynkoop offers a diverse selection of rotating brews on tap. The Serbian Horse Racer is a refreshing blonde ale, ideal for those seeking an easy-going beer that pairs seamlessly with any dish. Alternatively, indulge in Wynkoop’s flagship beer, the Rail Yard Ale, a smooth amber brew that marries the malty richness of an Oktoberfest lager with the subtle fruitiness of an ale. With both of these beers being so crisp and crushable, one’s lunch with coworkers might just transition into happy hour – cheers!

Best Lunch in Littleton

There’s no better pairing than peanut butter and jelly—unless that is a burger and fries, of course!
