Cheers To Summer With Cocktails That Celebrate The Sunshine
Warmer weather is here and with it comes summer cocktails perfect for a refreshing afternoon
Warmer temperatures in the Mile High City mean patios are opening for eager patrons ready to enjoy all that late spring and summer have to offer—and that includes cocktails. From light and citrusy to warming and rich, there’s a cocktail for every flavor profile. What better way to accentuate your patio pleasure than with a refreshing chilled sipper? We found five cocktails that will be sure to quench your thirst in hip surroundings for a happy hour, catch-up with friends, or fun night out.
BurnDown on South Broadway is a three-story locale that is busting at the seams with fun loungey spots and a rooftop that is not to be missed. The Silk Suit, made with Bear Creek rye vodka, Suze, lemon, tarragon and blackberry, is a great cocktail to order while enjoying a view of the mountains under the Edison light bulbs on the terrace. You can also enjoy live music at this neighborhood-style bar.
Bezel in the Sheraton Denver Downtown is a chic lounge and a perfect place to enjoy a summer cocktail. The Smoked Guava Paloma is a perfect complement to the lounge’s golden chandeliers, comfortable seating areas and stunning mirrored bar.
Whether enjoying a cocktail at the newly renovated ELWAY’S Downtown, in the relaxing spa, or in one of Denver’s only full-service club lounges, the Ritz-Carlton Denver has you covered. Snake in the Grass at ELWAY’S Down-town is a quintessential summer drink that is decidedly Instagram-worthy.
Toro in Cherry Creek North is a summer sipper’s dream come true with large outdoor spaces and walls that open to the outdoors when Colorado sunshine prevails. Whether enjoying the fire pits with boxwood backdrops or opting for the luxurious indoor dining, the Toro Spicy Margarita—complete with black salt, jalapeño and lime—pairs perfectly with Toro’s South American-, Japanese- and Chinese-influenced cuisine.
YumCha off of the 16th Street Mall is a dumpling and noodle bar that also serves up some interesting cocktails. The Suikawari is a concoction you’ll want to try, with watermelon, yuzu and basil flavors. Named after a traditional Japanese game of splitting a watermelon with a stick while blindfolded (think a variation of a piñata), this refreshing cocktail is perfect for warm summer days.
Cheers to summertime in Colorado!
