Fun Two-Day Summer Festival Returns To Denver
Tennyson Street Fair introduces new Friday programming, including first-ever Berkeley Beer Fest
The third annual Tennyson Street Fair is now a two-day extravaganza for the first time. Returning July 18-19, Tennyson Street Fair will now include a Friday kickoff event, complete with a beer festival. The two-day family-friendly neighborhood festival features more than 100 Tennyson businesses and other local businesses set up on the famed Tennyson Street, alongside food trucks and live music.
“Our inaugural year we welcomed 15,000 people and last year it nearly doubled, growing to 28,000 visitors. It’s a weekend people have marked on their calendar all summer long,” says Ellie Hixenbaugh, event director at Team Player Productions, which produces the event. “Even with our festivals all over the West, these hometown festivals are some of the most special.”
All events are free except the beer festival. The neighborhood block party extends down the vibrant Tennyson Street from West 39th Avenue to West 43rd Avenue.
The hyperlocal Berkeley Beer Fest from 5-8 p.m. will feature 15 breweries, most of whom have a North Denver footprint. Guests can pre-purchase a $20 punchcard to try beers from each brewery. Participating breweries include Call to Arms Brewing Company, New Terrain Brewing Co., The Empourium Brewing Company, Westbound & Down Brewing Co., Gravity Brewing, Fiction Beer Company, Cerebral Brewing, Windfall Brewing Co. and more. Call to Arms Brewing Company and Empourium Brewing Company are releasing a special collaboration beer in honor of the festival, which will be available at the festival bars all weekend long.
The Friday festival, from 4-9 p.m., will also feature live music from Americana band Cottonwood Drifters and folk-rock singer Emelise.
Saturday will run from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. with live music from Teresa Storch Band, Moon Honey, Velvet Dream, and Boot Gun. BYOMat for free outdoor group yoga with Ohana Yoga + Barre from 11 a.m. – noon.
The dozens of local makers at this farmers market-style experience will be selling handcrafted jewelry, rugs, spices, art, candles, skincare and much more. In addition to the standout restaurants on Tennyson like Hops & Pie, Bakery Four, Atomic Cowboy and Lucy’s Burger Bar, nearly 15 food trucks and pop-ups will be serving food.
Proceeds from Tennyson Street Fair will benefit the Tennyson Berkeley Business Association (TBBA).
