Hello my fellow foodies and welcome back. For our anniversary, my husband and I decided to take a short vacation to Las Vegas to see a few shows and go check out a new restaurant at Wynn Las Vegas, Pisces Bar and Seafare. Anniversaries are special, and I have heard that Pisces is the place to go to celebrate any occasion. I love going to check out new restaurants in Las Vegas, so off we pooped for our anniversary getaway.

Pisces Bar and Seafare opened a few months ago. Under the direction of Chef Martin Heiering, the restaurant celebrates Mediterranean coastal cuisine with seafood platters, fresh fish sourced every day from the Mediterranean, and of course, caviar and crudo, because it is Las Vegas after all. Entering the restaurant is something spectacular. The large bar and comfy seating exude elegance at every turn, with no expense spared for the architectural design of the restaurant. We were hungry, so we settled in for our foodie adventure Las Vegas style.

When you are seated at Pisces Bar and Seafare, you are met by not one, but two extremely knowledgeable waitstaff suggesting drinks, appetizers, and asking if you have any food allergies.  We already felt special before we even ordered. There is an array of seafood platters ranging in price, but we decided to go light and ordered the Hamachi Crudo and the Spicy Tuna Tartare. It seems like everyone is doing a version of the Hamachi Crudo these days, but Pisces knocked it out of the park. Topped with tangerine citrus and Calabrian chili.  It is simple, as not to take away from the flavor of Hamachi, and it is perfection. The tuna was so fresh, I could almost taste the sea. We ordered one more interesting starter, the Crab Cigars. They were like a meal itself, filled with fresh crab and wrapped in filo dough. They were an interesting take on a spring roll-like starter, crispy and delicious.

When it came to the main course, our wait staff suggested that we share one entrée. I really appreciated that as we were getting full, and I am not one to waste food. We had to go big, so we ordered the Grilled Whole Lobster. The presentation of the lobster was a work of art.  You don’t have to get messy as they have taken out all the succulent meat, grilled it, and put it back into the lobster for presentation. There is a Choron sauce on top and a bit of caviar. By far, the best lobster I have had, and it was enough for two.

Cocktails are just as carefully thought out as the food at Pisces Bar and Seafare and they boast a world class wine list. We decided to share the Greek Soft Yogurt for dessert.  It is not your average soft serve. It is topped with a sour cherry compote and served alongside baklava donuts. It was a perfect ending to an extraordinary meal.

There are so many choices of restaurants in Las Vegas. It truly is a mecca for foodies, and although I enjoy trying out hole in the wall places as well, sometimes you just need to treat yourselves to celebrate something special, and special is how we truly felt dining at Pisces Bar and Seafare. Happy Anniversary to us! Until next time my fellow foodies, eat well, drink well, and be well.
