The All Inn Hotel
A restored 1950s motor inn on Denver’s East Colfax corridor blends mid-century design, modern comfort, and standout dining at Fino and All Is Well Café
Hello my fellow foodies and welcome back. For many years I have been a lover of all things mid-century modern. There is a hotel that recently opened in Denver that has mid-century history with the modern touches of today, and I had to go check it out for a stay and play.
With its 54 rooms, The All Inn Hotel comes complete with some of the kitsch, and all the class that makes a great Denver Hotel. Inspire Investment Group President, Brian Toerber, revitalized the hotel while keeping his promise to preserve the history and sense of community that the East Colfax area of Denver exudes. The 1950’s motor inn went through an expansive renovation with every thought put into the fact that the original building and some of its artifacts are priceless. They gave the building, which is on the National Register of Historic places, an uplift but preserved the original neon out front, the exposed rock wall, and the very 1950’s vertical windows. With some added touches, The All Inn hotel was born, and I could not wait to visit.
When you walk into The All Inn Hotel, you are truly transported back in time. The rooms are beautiful with reclaimed pieces from the 60’s and the comfiest hotel beds I have ever slept in. Each of the three guestrooms floors has a color theme, just like the original hotel, and each room has its own unique lamps to add a bit of mystique to every room.
I was hungry so I headed downstairs to Fino, the in-house restaurant at The All Inn Hotel. The Mediterranean restaurant encourages people to slow down, ease into their meal, and enjoy. If you are a fan of avocado toast, then you must try the Dungeness crab toast. Topped with tons and I mean tons of Dungeness crabmeat, this snack, starter, or meal, takes the popular avocado toast to a new level. If you are not a fan of crab, there are other toasts on the menu. While this might not seem like the proper or usual dinner bite, trust me, don’t leave without ordering one, they are outstanding! Another must try at the restaurant is the Vodka O’s. Think Spaghetti O’s but adult style, complete with the most delicious meatballs on top. The cocktail and wine list will make a perfect pairing to your meal there. Whether you stay at the hotel or not, Fino must be put on your go-to Denver restaurant list. It is honestly one of the best hotel restaurants I have eaten at, and I will be back very soon, as it is that tasty.
The All is Well café sits on the other side of the lobby, and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a great place to work, relax and met up with friends for a pre-dinner cocktail and snack. This Summer, The All Inn Hotel will be opening a wine garden to create a European courtyard experience at the hotel.
Worth noting is that The All Inn Hotel is a hop, skip, and jump away from The Denver Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, and The Cherry Creek shopping area. Whether you walk or drive, the hotel sits right in the middle of all the fun things to do in Denver. Your Summer vacation Denver style just got better thanks to The All inn Hotel. Until next time my fellow foodies, eat well, drink well, and be well.
