Artists on Santa Fe will present “Shades of Blue,” a group exhibition featuring work by 15 gallery members from July 17 through Aug. 17, 2026, at the gallery’s home at 747 Santa Fe Drive in Denver.

The exhibition examines the emotional and symbolic range of the color blue through paintings, photography, mixed media, textile art, sculpture, ceramics and jewelry. Visitors can attend the opening reception on Friday, July 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. during Third Friday festivities or experience the exhibition during the First Friday Art Walk on Aug. 7, when Santa Fe Drive closes to vehicle traffic and fills with galleries, food vendors and street performers.

The exhibition also remains open during the gallery’s regular business hours throughout its run.

From pale sky blue and cobalt to navy, indigo and turquoise, the featured artists use color to create atmosphere while exploring themes of memory, reflection and place.

Presented during the height of summer, the exhibition also reflects on the cultural associations of blue during July celebrations. References to evening skies, fireworks and the colors of the American flag add another layer of meaning, balancing ideas of public celebration with more personal reflections on freedom, identity and belonging.

Because each participating artist works in a distinct medium and style, visitors can experience how a single color palette inspires dramatically different creative approaches.
