Best Asian Happy Hours

Hello my fellow foodies and welcome back. With the prices of food rising, I thought it was time to let all of you in on some of my dining out secrets. I love happy hour and I absolutely love Asian food. If you put two together, you have a perfect match for dining out in Denver. All these happy hours are enough for a full meal and will let you try some of Denver’s most chatted about Asian spots at the same time. Nothing could be better, so as usual, let’s eat!

First up is Little Ollie’s in the Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver. Open since 1997, Little Ollie’s is a neighborhood dining spot with a history of having excellent Asian cuisine. Executive Chef Thomas Griese has an impressive background working at such restaurants as the famous French Laundry. With his leadership, Little Ollie’s and their sister restaurant Jing in the Denver Tech Center are turning out some delicious culinary delights. Some of the crowd favorites for happy hour are Short Rib Dumplings, Crispy Tuna Rolls, their famous Spicy Wontons, and the ever popular Chicken Lettuce Wraps, which were my favorite. Nothing on the happy hour menu is over $13, and the Grey Goose Martini for $10 along with other happy hour cocktails are hard to beat anywhere in the city. There is a reason Little Ollie’s has a long standing presence in Cherry Creek, it is just that good! Happy hour runs from 3pm-6pm daily.

Next, I was off to Ace Eat Serve in Denver. This is a happy hour where nothing is over $5 on the happy hour menu, and yes, I just wrote that. It’s really good food at a price where you can try all the things and not break the bank. From coffee in the morning to ping pong tables galore, this is one stop shop for funday any day. Salt & Pepper Popcorn Chicken, Pork Potstickers, and Scallion Pancakes are just some of the delights on the happy hour menu along with sweet bites and lots of fun Highball cocktails all at $5 each. Happy hour is 4-6pm weekdays, 3-6pm weekends and late night starting at 9pm.

Last, but certainly not least on my list is Uchi in the RINo district of Denver. I have been to their sister restaurant Uchiko in Cherry Creek, and to check out what all the buzz was about their $120 for 2 omakase 9 course happy hour. The omakase is the chef’s choice and changes regularly, so buckle up and expect a surprise, and a filling 9 course journey through their outstanding cuisine with some of the freshest fish around. You will be treated to cold and hot bites, and even a delectable dessert. If you have allergies, they will absolutely accommodate you, just let them know. They have other offerings on the happy hour menu as well if you don’t want the omakase, but we went for it and for $60 per person, it is one of the best omakase deals I have ever seen. Alcohol is separate, but they have many cocktail happy hour specials on the menu to go right alongside your omakase experience.  While it is not the least expensive way to enjoy happy hour, it would be hard to find this kind of omakase experience for $60 per person anywhere, so it is well worth the price. Uchiko in Cherry Creek offers the same happy hour special, so you can choose which location to go to. Word is out so reservations are highly recommended. Happy is daily from 4-6pm.
