Heart & Hand is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating a nurturing community for all youth in Northeast Denver, from second grade to two years post-graduation, and their families through community-based programming – ultimately disrupting the cycle of poverty and striving to build a world with no opportunity gap so that everyone has the resources needed for success. A chance for the community to support their neighbors and the Heart & Hand mission, the annual Heart & Hand Night in Lights Masquerade Gala will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, from 5:30-11 p.m. at the Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

Supporting nearly 250 students across four programs, Heart & Hand creates a nurturing after-school environment where everyone gets a meal, help with homework, exposure to new passions, and a healthy dose of love. Heart & Hand provides three hours of daily after-school programming for students and families from September through May at no cost for families. These programs are designed for youth in 2nd to 8th-grade at Columbine Elementary, Whittier ECE-8th and Bruce Randolph Middle School.

In addition to its after-school programs, Heart & Hand provides youth with an enriching eight-week summer camp experience inclusive of academic support, field trips across the Denver metro area and workshops that enable students to try new things like archaeology and tennis. Once students transition to 9th grade, the Career & College Readiness Program (CCR) is designed to meet the individual academic, social-emotional and future-planning needs of participants, empowering them to achieve post-secondary success and beyond. The newest program, Family Development, is designed to provide wrap-around support to the entire family, including resource navigation, support services and advocacy.

A ticket, sponsorship, or donation to the Night in Lights Masquerade Gala will raise funds to ensure Heart & Hand can continue to provide free out-of-school time programming to students this fall and ongoing support to families in the Northeast Denver community. Guests will enjoy a networking cocktail hour, dinner, beer, and wine, live and silent auctions, entertainment, and the opportunity to don their best masks and masquerade attire. Individual tickets start at $250 (available here), and sponsorships start at $3,000 (available here).
