The Best Burger in Denver is Gearing Up to be Determined This August
Denver Burger Battle is coming up on August 3rd, 2023 at Tivilo Quad featuring 20 competing restaurants for the best burger in town
Denver Burger Battle is just around the corner on Aug. 3 at Tivoli Quad. 20 competing restaurants – including seven newbies – battling for the best burger in town, we’ve rounded up a few standouts to look out for at this year’s festival from both repeat winners and newbies.
Returning contenders:
Last year’s Judges Choice Winner Stanley Beer Hall proved that sweet and savory is the perfect balance for a burger with their Peaches N’ Cream burger that included spiced peach ketchup and grilled Palisade peaches. This year, the defending champ looks to wow tastebuds with their Limoncello Burger which includes Tonali’s prime rib burger, limoncello-creamed goat cheese, Meyer lemon preserves, and citrus greens.
It would be a travesty not having Pueblo green chilies in a Colorado burger festival. Thankfully Rooted Craft Kitchen has us covered with The Colorado Burger, featuring Wagyu beef patty, Pueblo green chilies, diced bacon, American cheese, crispy onions, and a toasted Brioche bun.
Four-time winner and People’s Choice winner two years in a row, Cherry Cricket is definitely a restaurant to watch at Denver Burger Battle. Last year they piled everything from mac and cheese and crunchy cheetos to a crispy Poblano on top of their 983 Big Cheesy burger that secured 2022 People’s Choice. This year they are throwing it down with Cricket Royale, which includes braised short rib, caramelized onions, duxelles, melted cave-aged swiss cheese, roasted garlic onion jam, black pepper aioli, and crispy onions on a pretzel bun.
Birria tacos are all the rage so this year Illegal Burger will feature Birria Burger, with all natural beef patty, adobo braised beef, grilled asiago cheese, cilantro lime sauce, and consomé for dipping of course.
Along similar lines of dipping burger into broth, Next Door Kitchen & Bar’s French Onion Soup Bistro Burger includes two smash patties, frico, caramelized onions, crispy onions, remoulade, and a side of French onion soup for dipping!
Hickory & Ash takes a classic cheeseburger up a notch with their H&A Moomami Burger which is a smash burger with Moomami Jam, Raclette Whiz, charred Fresno ketchup, dill pickle mayo, and beer braised onions.
