Welcome back my fellow foodies, and happy holiday season! Before a visit from my family for the holidays, I decided to head down to Denver to do a little investigating to find the best place for holiday libations, food, and fun in Denver. I headed to The Dairy Block, McGregor Square, and Union Station for a night out to start my holidays right.

I decided to stay at The Maven Hotel in The Dairy Block so I could be close to all the action. The hotel is extraordinary, and different from most hotels I’ve stayed in. The Maven Hotel is not your traditional hotel, as it connects many parts of The Dairy Block, which allows you to explore without having to go very far, or even outside if you don’t want to. The rooms are spacious, modern, and boast super comfy beds. If you are looking to enjoy all things holiday, head down to The Maven Hotel. The hotel is offering several Winter packages including “Snowflakes in the City”, where guests who book two nights get a third night free, or you can show your ski pass for 20% off your stay.

Denver Milk Market Fuso Pizza

The Denver Milk Market is just a few steps away for your morning coffee or a fabulous dinner. I was hungry and thirsty, so as usual, let’s eat! The Denver Milk Market is a food hall like no other. With several different vendors, a full bar, a pool table and a lounge area, it seemed like a no-brainer that this was my first stop. I had a delicious slice of pizza at Fuso, and a plate of their homemade pasta. There is a poke shop, a deli, a seafood shop, an ice cream shop, and many more vendors. The choices are endless and the vibe is beyond fun.

I was ready to try my holiday cocktails at Poka Lola Social Club, located on the first floor of The Maven Hotel. The kind bartender brought out three different holiday drinks. They were as beautiful as they were delicious, and I was totally getting into that holiday spirit. My favorite was a minty, chocolaty vodka frozen concoction that reminded me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. They were all picture worthy for sure. If holiday drinks are not your thing, there is a gorgeous bar full of any libation you can think of, and the space is reason enough to head there, hang out, and toast to a merry holiday season.

Starting November 30th Every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas, you can check out The Mistletoe Market in the heated alley of the Dairy Block featuring local Colorado vendors, live carolers, holiday music and screen printing for the first 50 attendees. This is a not to be missed event and a great way to support the locals while getting all your Christmas shopping done!

Mcgregor Skate

My next stop was at Milepost Zero in Mcgregor Square, Denver’s downtown playground as they call it. This area screams holiday time, and whether you are skating on the outdoor rink, headed there after a Nuggets game, or just want to partake in all things holiday, this is the place. Their Sleigh Bar is up and running for the holidays, serving festive cocktails! I tried a few of their holiday cocktails, and their adorable smores kit for making a yummy dessert table-side.

Finally, I headed to Union Station to peek at their beautiful holiday tree, sip some hot chocolate, and relax. Santa will be at the station every Sunday until Christmas in The Great Hall, and Miracle at Union Station is back featuring Buddy’s Bar, a pop-up bar with all the holiday feels to go with it. Reservations are highly recommended for this fun holiday addition at Union Station.

What a great, festive, and fun time I had at The Dairy Block, McGregor Square, and Union Station for my holiday food and libation investigation. Bring the family, bring your friends, or bring your coworkers down to all their holiday happenings, you won’t be disappointed. Until next time my fellow foodies, eat well, drink well, and be well. Have a happy and safe holiday season!
