This Luxury Wellness Retreat Gets An Elevated Renovation Upgrade

Garden of the Gods Resort and Club, Colorado’s premier luxury wellness retreat announces it is nearing completion of an extensive, $40 Million renovation to several aspects of the property which will elevate the already exceptional experience for its guests and members.

These most recent refreshments, which are expected to be completed in spring 2023, are aimed at enhancing various spaces throughout the property and will further elevate the feeling of enrichment, wellness, discovery and relaxation that are synonymous with the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club brand. The new design direction, conceptualized and executed by Johnson David Interiors and March & Associates Inc., incorporates modern styling of natural materials to achieve an elegant take on the Colorado mountain casual aesthetic.

These renovations will further establish the resort as the premier retreat in the Rocky Mountain West.”

As guests and members approach the lighted drive guiding them toward the porte-cochere of the newly improved resort property, they will be welcomed by the revitalized arrival experience at Garden of the Gods Resort and Club. From the cobblestone drive and beautiful landscaping to the gentle sounds of the trickling water feature to the greeting from a gracious staff member offering a wellness elixir designed to refresh, inspire and rejuvenate, the feeling of tranquility foreshadows the ease and enjoyment to be had for the duration of one’s stay.

In the spacious lodge rooms and suites, guests can expect to see all new furnishings, bedding and décor. Color serves as an essential purpose in the property’s private retreats with the intent of creating spaces meant to bring a sense of serenity and escape. The carefully selected shades used in the rooms, which include soft grays, warm taupe, neutral browns, bronze and accents of soft blues and greens, are meant to encourage feelings of healing, slowing down and peace. Additionally, the fireplaces in each room, which provide visual and physical warmth to the space, have been re-cladded with a 3D textural limestone for a timeless, rustic chic vibe. Guests and members will also look forward to the completely reimagined bathrooms in the lodge rooms and suites. The expansive redesign has nearly doubled the size of the spaces and now includes oversized showers, full-size soaking tubs and modern vanities that together create an ultra-luxury space for relaxation.

These impressive enhancements continue in the main building of the property. Here, guests will be greeted by a refreshed reception area, new furnishings in the members-only The Rocks Lounge and an entirely revamped Grand View Dining Room and Terrace.

The Grand View Dining Room and Terrace is already arguably one of Colorado’s most exquisite dining destinations with unparalleled views of the brilliantly colored Garden of the Gods rock formations. In its new era, the venue will boast more contemporary design elements that work in harmony with mineral artistry on the other side of the room’s floor-to-ceiling windows to provide a one-of-a-kind dining experience that is enriched by nature. Oak wood flooring, the use of organic materials such as stone, leather, and copper and twinkling chandeliers are just some of the stylish new features being added to the Grand View. The brand-new bar and the wine display will be some of the most anticipated features of the refresh. The new full-service bar will be made of onyx imported from Turkey and hickory wood will be softly illuminated to generate an ambient glow. Enjoying any of the gourmet meals, delicious craft cocktails or mocktail concoctions from the newly curated menus at the Grand View will soon be an even more memorable event.

Other elements of the renovation project include the addition of firepits to the patio area of The Rocks Lounge, the addition of three new tennis courts and six pickleball courts, enhancing the Kissing Camels Clubhouse with new furnishings and an expanded outdoor seating terrace, updating the reception area and salon at Strata and more.

These design elements are coupled with several strategic leadership additions to further advance the property’s services for guests and members. Recent team member additions at Garden of the Gods Resort and Club include renowned chef Keith Theodore as Vice President of Culinary; Jan Verweij, a seasoned hospitality professional brought on as Senior Vice President of Operations; John Douglas, an industry leader who joined the team as Vice President of Engineering; and Paul York, who brings his passion for curating superb dining experiences to the General Manager of Restaurants position.
